Acrylic ester is the general term for acrylic acid and its homologous esters, and its general chemical formula is CH2=CHCOOR. The molecular formula of acrylic acid is (CH2=CHCOOH). The H bond in the carbonyl group can be substituted by an alkyl group of 1-18 carbon atoms, or it can be a structure of various functional groups, collectively referred to as acrylates, among which methylacrylate, ethyl acrylate, butyl acrylate and 2-ethylhexyl acrylate are general-purpose acrylates.
1. Textile
Acrylate emulsion polymers have various properties and uses due to differences in the ratio of raw materials and processing methods in the preparation process. They are widely used in the textile industry and have a very special status. Acrylic emulsions are mainly used as thickeners and fabric adhesives in pigment printing.
2. Adhesives
Polyacrylate adhesives are one of the most widely used areas of acrylates. They have the advantages of a wide bonding range, low toxicity, weather resistance, simple formula, and low price, but they have poor temperature resistance and thermoplasticity. Acrylic adhesives can be divided into anaerobic adhesives, pressure-sensitive adhesives, dry adhesives and two-component instant adhesives according to the application method.
3. Paint
The coating made of methyl acrylate is a new type of cross-linkable thermosetting material with comprehensive properties, various types and rich forms. It has the characteristics of green pollution-free, mechanical properties, chemical resistance and gloss and color retention.
4. Other applications
Methylacrylate polymer is an indispensable oil field chemical in the process of oil and natural gas extraction, gathering and transportation, water quality treatment, etc. It is mainly used as a pour point depressant, crude oil demulsifier, scale inhibitor, water quality stabilizer, etc.
